What types of high voltage load break switches?

The load break switch is a switching device between the circuit breaker and the isolation switch. It has simple arc extinguishing equipment, which can block extra load current and certain overload current, but cannot block short-circuit current. The load switch can switch on and off the load current, excitation current, charging current and capacitor bank current under normal operating conditions.

High voltage load switch can be divided into the following types:

1) Vacuum type high voltage load break switch (): the use of vacuum medium to extinguish the arc, the electric life is long, the relative price is relatively high, and it is suitable for commodities of 220 kV and below. such as FZN25, FZN21, FZN64 series

2) Oil-immersed high voltage load break switch: It uses the energy of the arc itself to decompose and vaporize the oil around the arc and cools and suspends the arc.

3) Sulfur hexafluoride type highvoltage load break switch (SF6 LBS): using sulfur hexafluoride gas to extinguish the arc, its breaking current is large, and the function of breaking capacitor current is good, but the structure is relatively messy, and it is suitable for products of 35 kV and above. such as FNL36 series

4) Compressed high voltage load break switch: It uses the compressed air of the piston during the breaking process to blow out the arc, and its structure is relatively simple, and is suitable for products of 35 kV and below. such as FKN12 series

5) Solid gas-generating high voltage load break switch: Use the energy of breaking the arc itself to make the gas-generating material in the arc chamber generate gas to blow out the arc. Its structure is relatively simple, and it is suitable for products of 35 kV and below. such as FN5 series

6) Compressed air type high voltage load break switch: the use of compressed air to blow out the arc can interrupt a large current, and its structure is relatively messy, suitable for products of 60 kV and above.
