Application and Features of high voltage load break switch

The high-voltage load Break switch is an electrical appliance whose function is between the high-voltage circuit breaker and the high-voltage isolation switch. The high-voltage load switch is often used in series with the high-voltage fuse; it is used to control the power transformer. The high-voltage load switch has a simple arc extinguishing device, so it can switch on and off a certain load current and overload current. However, it cannot disconnect the short-circuit current, so it is generally used in series with a high-voltage fuse for short-circuit protection.

What is a high voltage load switch?

High-voltage load switch and combined electrical appliances, suitable for three-phase AC 10KV, 50HZ power system, or used in conjunction with complete sets of power distribution equipment, ring network switch cabinets, combined substations, etc., widely used in area network construction and renovation projects, industrial and mining enterprises , high-rise buildings and public facilities, etc., can be used as a ring network power supply or terminal, playing the role of power distribution, control and protection. The technical performance of this product complies with IEC publication 60265-1/FDIS "High Voltage Load Switches, Part 1: High Voltage Load Switches with Rated Voltage Above 1KV and Below 52KV", IEC60420 "High Voltage AC Load Switch-Fuse Combinations", GB16926 "AC High Voltage" Load Switch-Fuse Combination Appliances", GB3804-63KV "AC High Voltage Load Switch". This product has the advantages of large breaking capacity, safety and reliability, long electrical life, frequent operation, compact structure, small size, light weight, and basically no maintenance. With breaking rated current, overload current. It can break short-circuit current and prevent the operation of equipment from lack of phase. The switch has an obvious isolation fracture. It is equipped with an electric spring mechanism of the grounding switch with closing ability, which can be remotely controlled.

The role of high voltage load switch

In the power system, the role of the load switch is as follows:

1. On and off functions. Turn on and off the load current under normal working conditions, and use together with high-voltage fuses to replace circuit breakers. As shown in the figure below, it is an indoor high-voltage load switch and fuse combination. Because it has a certain arc extinguishing ability, it can be used to break and close the load current and the overload current of a certain multiple (usually 3-4 times); it can also be used to break and close the allowable capacity of the isolating switch. Larger no-load transformers and longer no-load lines are sometimes used to open and close large-capacity capacitor banks.

2. substitution effect. The series combination of load switch and current limiting fuse can be used instead of circuit breaker. That is, the load switch is responsible for breaking and closing the overload current less than a certain multiple, and the current limiting fuse is responsible for breaking the larger overload current and short-circuit current.

3. The load switch which is combined in series with the current limiting fuse into an integrated load switch is stipulated in the national standard as "load switch-fuse combination electrical appliance". The fuse can be installed on the power supply side of the load switch or on the power receiving side of the load switch. When the fuse does not need to be changed frequently, the former arrangement should be adopted, so that the load switch can be used as the isolating switch to isolate the voltage applied to the current-limiting fuse.

The use and characteristics of high voltage load switch

Uses: High-voltage load switch is an electrical appliance whose function is between high-voltage circuit breakers and high-voltage isolation switches. High-voltage load switches are often used in series with high-voltage fuses; they are used to control power transformers. The high-voltage load switch has a simple arc extinguishing device, because it can switch on and off a certain load current and overload current. However, it cannot disconnect the short-circuit current, so it is generally used in series with a high-voltage fuse for short-circuit protection.

Features: It can isolate the power supply and has an obvious disconnection point, which is mostly used for fixed high-voltage equipment. There is no arc extinguishing device, and normal operating current and short circuit can be passed in the closed state. It is strictly forbidden to connect and disconnect the circuit with load, and it is often used in series with the high-voltage circuit breaker.
