Performance characteristics
The circuit breaker uses sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas as the arc extinguishing medium. The sulfur hexafluoride gas not only has good arc extinguishing performance, but also has very good electrical insulation performance. When the gas is broken, it is compressed by the compressed air and then sprayed towards the arc. The circuit breaker extinguishes the arc and has many advantages such as simple structure, good breaking performance, and balanced operation. It is also an ideal switch for capacitor banks and reactor banks.
The circuit breaker with superior breaking performance can smoothly break various abnormal short circuits, such as reverse-phase state where both poles of the circuit breaker are grounded at the same time, near-area faults, and other faults including end faults of the circuit breaker.
Low operating noise Since the circuit breaker is sealed and isolated from the atmosphere, there is no noise from gas ejection during operation.
Simple structure and compact size. The arc extinguishing chamber adopts a single break and has no other valve system, so the structure is very simple and compact in size.
The maintenance workload of the circuit breaker is small. Due to the simple structure and the small burning loss of the arc extinguishing chamber contacts of the circuit breaker when it is opened in sulfur hexanitride gas, the maintenance workload of the circuit breaker is small and the maintenance cycle is relatively long.
Safe and reliable. Pure sulfur hexafluoride gas is non-toxic and non-flammable, and because the arc extinguishing chamber is well sealed, the circuit breaker is safe and reliable in use.
